    manure

    there are some heifers grazing in the field behind my house and of course theres loads of manure in there. was going to go in tomorrow and collect a bucket of it, will it benefit my veggies if I spread it on top of their soil?

    I would reckon it'll be way too fresh - better to compost it.

      It would burn the crops. You would be better to collect as much as you can and pile it up to rot and then Dig it in in the spring.

        .................or put it in a hessian sack or an old pair of tights and hang it in your water butt for a liquid feed???

          I collect from local field, cover with a plastic sack and leave 6 months before use. (rotted and full of worms)

            Snadger seems to have in inexhaustible supply of old tights. I wonder what he does of an evening?
