Default Manure

Can anyone tell me when is the best time to apply manure?

Can you apply fresh or do you have to get well rotted manure?

hi tracey, i read on here from someone else that you can add it at anytime, but it is better to be rotted down. I have added mine to the soil now and covered over and not all of it is rotted, but (sorry this sounds gross!!!! lol ) if you can get it in your hands and squash it about so it is loose that would be good, also heard the urine on the straw is excellent, so i have added this as well.

I must admit i have a pony so i can get loads and loads and i bring back a bag every week and i dig into the pile and get the rotted, cooking, steaming stuff, the kids cry in the back of the car, but my garden is very important at the mo lol .
