  • Ground cover

I am looking to cover some recently weeded areas intended purely to stop weeds from growing. I shall be planting something in these areas later on.

I wondered if anyone had any advice what to use for this purpose (that looks better than covering the areas with empty compost bags). I don't really want to cut up large pieces of ground cover for these smallish areas.

    Thanks.

How soon do you plan to plant in it? If not long go with cardboard. If longer green manure has the added bonus of improving your soil.

Weeds are green manures. I chop mine up and leave them on the soil as a (weed suppressing, moisture retaining, soil improving) mulch. They soon turn dark brown and just look like earth
