  • Which compost

I have read a lot about the condition of compost bought in from different outlets. I myself have written and complained to miracle grow about the state of compost when I found bits of timber, black and blue plastic bag bits, string that you find around joints of meat, and to my suprise even a babies dummy. I wonder where they go to get thier contents. I had to sieve it and ended with 25% unusable. I have seen the same in Levingtons, J A Bowers and a few other well known makes and it seems they are just wanting to get it out quick and are not concerned with the quality. I ended up using it on my lottie as a mulch. I recently though purchased from amate who is relocating to somerset three bags of b&q multi purpose and put it on my lottie thinking it would be the same as the rest and was pleasantly suprised at the quality of it. it is very good and well composted with no bits in it at all, I will give it a go next year and maybe suggest to other companies to take a leaf out of b&q's book of compost. I wonder if anyone else has found problems and what they recommend.
