Default Free seeds from RHS

Got a nice surprise this morning, package from the RHS telling me that I had won a Grow Your Won Veg starter pack as one of the first 1000 subscribers to their veg e-newsletter. Anyway, it contained a few recipe cards, some advice on types to grow and how to and packs of T&M seeds for Calliope Aubergines, torassan oriental spinach and green grape tomatoes. Had promised myself I wouldn't buy any more seeds so will have to have a rethink about what is going where. Not sure if they have any left but may be worth looking on the RHS site.

Also, for anybody thinking of joining the RHS, they're currently offering the Carol Klein GYO book for free when you join.

Default Veg..?

You can get the book from www.thebookpeople.co.uk for £4.99 +p&p. If you use the promotion code fpp154 You might get free p&p.

Anyhow I'm glad somebody has received something from the RHS Grow your Own campaign, I also signed up and was sure i must have been within the first 1000 as i signed up a couple of hours before the 1st episode went out 6 weeks ago now. So perhaps there is hope for me yet.

I went to the GYO day at RHS Wisley and we were given free starter packs. I was a bit disapointed in the seeds as the 3 packets we were given (Carrots, spring onions and green grape tomatos) had very little seed in them. To be honest I'm probably expecting too much from a free thing but they could've provided more than 10 seeds in the tomato packet (the packet claimed to contain 60!) not much in the others either Still free seeds are free seeds

Nice to hear of someone getting the pack, Alison. I signed up when I read about the series before it was on air but I don't think I must have been in the first 1000. We were going to go to RHS. Harlow Carr for the free veg. day but didn't go in the end as we didn't fancy going over the pennines in the snow that was around that weekend!
