Let me introduce my wee garden
Posted 20-06-2008 at 09:53 AM by wornoutmumoftwo
I originaly started my garden back in March...
I began by sowing carrot seeds from one of those propagator sets from the pound shop...and some how I have become obsessed with gardening.
I used to HATE going outside, left the gardening to my hubby (a gardener by trade), and our poor garden was lucky if we managed to plant a few flowers in it each year.
Now?
I am claiming every inch of garden to grow veg; I've pulled up paving stones, dug over grass areas, I've even creating areas along the driveway and behing the shed - there is just NO stopping me at the minute.
(I've even asked the neighbour downstairs if I could comandeer some of his garden - fortunately he said I could).
At the present time I have a little of everything growing, I have grown everything from seed in two of those small plastic greenhouses and having planted everything out, I have just sowed more seeds.
The real reason I began growing my own veg was the price of food, but I've found myself really enjoying the challange.

| | hi wornoutmumoftwo, your garden sounds great. Mine is pretty untidy, no system, but (some) things grow OK. I've a few raised beds and lots of pots, all growing veg with various success. I'm not the best at keeping things tidy and I think the weeds know it's a kind of sanctuary for them, but I do the best I can and there's nothing to beat eating veg just picked from outside your back door. |
