No wind, no rain, just cold !!
Not much exciting going on this week. Just making up my boxes and delivering them - this week they have included tatties, carrots, onions, leeks, turnip, parsley, beetroot, celeriac and swedes - these aren't in every box but over the boxes for the week I have used those veggies.
Got new bank account too - new bank manager almost tripping over himself to get my business - offered me a HUGE overdraft which I declined - I'd have spent the lot on more tunnels,...

Didn't do a lot today - cleared rubbish and debris from polytunnel staging and below it. Then went to the County Ploughing Match which this year was only two fields away from mine - not really a spectator sport unless you know about ploughing etc or know the competitors - I fall into the first category a bit and the second one a lot. Good craic - farmers getting drunk by 2 pm !! Charity auction where farmers / ploughmen , all roaring drunk, bid outlandish amounts of dosh for things they either...

After yesterday's gale force winds which resulted in me lying face down among my leeks, and the snow last night, today was bitterly bitterly cold. Spent all day yesterday picking and pulling veg for 19 boxes, making up said boxes and delivering them. Funny how the wind slows you down and makes you somewhat less than keen to venture out the shed!
Today I picked the very very very last of my Paris Market carrots and my onions - those that had been missed due to groundcover (weeds )...

Well, today saw me pick last of my runner beans in what has been to be honest a disasterous season for them. Never mind there's always next year. Cleared plants and canes away, then picked the last 40 odd courgettes and ripped out the plants and deposited them on the rapidly expanding compost heap. Next came the last of the Chinese Cabbage. Of the twenty plants left managed to get 12 picked, the remaining 8 showing signs of bolting so no use for sale.
Sowed some rocket and flat leafed parsley...
