Been kinda busy

So what's new since I last wrote ?
Well I had my first two days off since Feb 2007 - went to a wedding over in Belfast - ace craic !
On the veg front, the tunnel floor is rapidly filling with growing cabbages, french beans, cukes, and there are lettuces in every available nook and cranny. The strawbs in the hanging baskets are going great guns too.I still have a lot of calabrese of my own to plant out, some caulis, sprouts, calabrese and lettuce for the local Garden Centre to pot on and package.
I sowed the last of my leeks today, and direct sowed the last of my broad beans too - I now have a whole kilometre of broad beans in. All my summer cabbages are in, including the reds. I have started to put the netting up for my peas, have planted out all 250 courgettes in the ground (each plant is protected by a used tyre - that part of the field looks like an army assault course). My tatties are just breaking the surface, and my beetroot, spring onions and carrots are doing the same - though slowly given that we have had no proper rain now for between 2 and 3 weeks.
I have played host to a local primary school, and visited another to tell them about growing veg, and helping them plant seeds for their own wee veg plot.
My veg boxes are keeping me going on a Thurday and Friday - this week they will contain some or all of the following - potatoes, carrots, onions, cabbage, spinach, lettuce, parsley, rocket.
Later..........
