Bloody gales again
Posted 28-02-2008 at 11:45 PM by sewer rat
Hi all
Following last Fridays stormy weather which saw fit to rip the cover from my polytunnel, we have more of the same forecast for tomorrow. My tunnel is all but bereft of covering - new cover should arrive tomorrow but need a very calm day to get it fitted - 1600 square ft of polythene makes a hell of a good kite in even a slight breeze. It's been wet and windy all week so still haven't been able to do much in the way of slurry spreading or poughing or cultivating, so was glad to get the call from a local farmer who needed new water troughs plumbed into his new cattle shed and repairs to his existing water system in his lambing shed. Only took 4 hours to do but have been asked if I can help the joiner who is building his dad's new house too, so Monday I'm of to be a chippy for three days. Made my boxes up this afternoon for tomorrows deliveries. 48 boxes this week containg some or all of the following - tatties, carrots, onions, parsnips, leeks, celeriac, kale, pumpkin, cabbage, red cabbage and cauliflower.
Bbay Niamh is doing fine, thanks to you all for all your best wishes again.
