Being an inexperienced allotmenteer, I left the plot yesterday afternoon with no small amount of trepidation, despite the glorious weather; the constant news stories about 'The worst storm in 10 years' etc etc was giving me visions of returning to find both my shed and greenhouse scattered about the site in compact if untidy pieces.

Well, it wasn't quite that bad, I got up there early this morning during a lull in the weather to find a couple of panes of glass knocked out of the greenhouse, but everything else was otherwise intact - phew. I seem to have been lucky though, becuase a few of the other plotholders have lost most of their glass - the trade off between shelter from the wind and partial shading in summer seems to have paid off for me at least. Roll on the sunshine so I can get planting!
