Had to do shopping today. Dog food was down to crumbs, and got a party tea to make on Sunday, so there was no choice, really. Now I don't do shopping, as a rule. The trolley kills me, specially getting it round corners, fully laden. I generally suffer, hips and back, about 2 days after I've been for nigh on a week. It's just not worth it. So I order on the internet and have it delivered, and it's a blessed relief. However, this week, because it's half-term I assume, a sensible delivery slot couldn't be had for love nor money, and half the stuff I wanted was showing as 'unavailable'... So there was no choice really, I had to go. On a Friday... What a hideous nightmare! And I also had to go to Keighley for dog food, which is 6-7 miles in the wrong direction, through town traffic, then turn round & get back through traffic to head for Colne, about 13 miles away and another lot of town traffic...followed by nearly 2 hours in supermarket, and an hour in rush hour traffic on way home
To say I'm exhausted now would be far too simple! The kids were stars though, and put all the shopping away when we got home while I frantically peeled veg for tea.
As an aside, our stored onions ran out yesterday (already?!), I really resented having to buy some!
Started Christmas shopping in earnest now too, Pops has to have an op soon (date unknown as yet), so I really need to have it in hand before that. As my siblings all live at the other end of the country, I reckon I'm going to be on call most of the time...

Anyway, after those disjointed ramblings, I'm going to call it a day and go to bed with a nice cup of tea.
