Saturday was really cold, spent time putting a new floor into the new guinea pig run. Sunday went to the lottie after waiting for daughter and grandchildren. Managed to clear the runner bean haulms and burnt some of the dry(ish) bramble stems and perennial weeds. Days are so short now - roll on Spring.

I also planted some daffs in the two tubs i tired (emphasis on the tried!!) to grow onions in last year! I think i'm going to see how they come on this year and if they look nice i'll put them up to the entrance of the driveway!

Well.. I've put some little bellboy tops over my parsnips... they look cold!

I've planted some garlic in pots and put them in the growhouse - to be honest i'm not expecting much as it was just a garlic bulb i bought from the shops!!

I've also planted some strawberry seeds - f1 sirian (I think!) 20 seeds in all - my they are small!!! i've put them in some seedling compost in a propegator and into the growhouse.. again... not expecting much but we have a wee mild spell...

Really cold today, minimum temp last night minus 1, but daytime only got to 5. Did a bit of tidying up in the garden, then decided to build the floor for the new guinea pig run. Just as cold in the workshop, but finally got it done. No major problems and I hope it will work well. Broad beans still in cell trays in the greenhouse, good germination but can't plant them out while it's this cold. Some rain today, hope it's dry tomorrow - if so will try to get to the lottie.

On Tuesday I was walking the dog. (Springer, almost 3 called Woody, perfect family dog, dotes on the children, sleeps with the cats but has intermittent other dog issues, especially if they are black or collies).

I went down to the Allotments, Jackie my long-term lottie-waiting-list-partner has started to dig over the patch she got, the week my husband got the job back up north.

So she dug and I threw sticks for my happy, (no dogs present) dog. (Enough neglected patches...
