Here I am buying enough seeds and artichokes, grape vines and plum trees/blueberries and asparagusto set up a small holding and the weather goes and turns!

Here are my favourite spuds that always give a good crop and are very tastey. My first earlys are Foremost and Homeguard.



My maincrop are Pentland Dell a good allrounder.

Yet again Wilkos has come to the rescue, I'll admit its probably notthe best gardening place in the area, but its so handy when we're shopping at the weekend. My better (in every sense) half goes to do the domestic shopping and I have a wander round the gardening section. A bit disappointed that I can't find the sugar snap peas in there mentioned in the last issue of the magazine but they did have horticultural fleece.

Now I've never used this before, never had any need to, but...

This is my first post on anything like this. I started my vege growing properly last year, I hounded my fiance for a greenhouse which I received 6 weeks after my birthday last year, I had already started off most seeds in my mini plastic greenhouse. Forget all this rubbish about "the mildest February ever, ever, ever..." we've had some of the hardest frosts for years. Some of the garden soil has not thawed at all in the daylight hours.

And the same happened in December.

It has been sunny during the day, but the nights are really vicious.

And I still have to listen to people on the train who say "oooh! It's so warm... that's climate change".
