Grow Your Own Magazine

I use cartridge filters in both my kettle and a fridge water jug, and wonder if anyone can tell me if I can empty them and add the contents either to my garden beds directly or add to my composter.

Can't you tell the weather is getting colder
out there?

Made the effort to plant up the last of my
flower bulbs for the spring also.

My main hope is I've planted some garlic
and onion sets in the hope I'll get a nice
crop in the new year.

Buried them deep and watered them in. I'll
be putting some covering fleece on tomorrow
night to keep the hard frost off.

Hopfully this will work out...

OH had his car removed from the garden corner-so... ...we're going to have some tatties planted over there.The bit of the ground is not big(3m*3m)but it's always better than nothing.
I'm a little bit afraid what's might be growing in that corner-I know about the nettles already but hope there's nothing worse than that.Kind of thing that really made my day.Now,I need big load of manure for Christmas prezzie

I joined the forums a couple of weeks ago and have decided to take advantage of the blogging feature since I'm sure to be driving my friends on my livejournal a little potty with all the gardening talk so this is to be my gardening blog.

I'm still quite new to gardening. My previous limits were growbag cherry tomatoes when I lived with my parents (as their house is surrounded by fields and they worry about what gets sprayed next door) and a couple of patio tomatoes, chillis and mint...
