Lots of fun in the March gales dragging the shed roof out of the reed bed and fixing back on in a gale.....!!! And I though allotment keeping would be calm and relaxing!!!

Right, here is the grand lottie plan and where we are so far (so confusing calling it a lottie as my horse is called Lottie!)

Plants and varieties from seed that are going so far:

Melon-Ogen
Tomatoes- Marmande, Tigerella, San Marzano(plum), Fiorentino (beefy)
Peppers- Yolo Wonder and California Wonder
Chillis- Jalapeno and Cayenne
Okra- doing absolutely rubbish at the moment
Aubergine just popped up
Pumpkins x4...

Photos taken of the allotment that I have taken on as a rescue mission.

The rhubarb was a nice suprise as it was hidden by overgrown grass until I bought a rake and started using it at the allotment one day. The tree is starting to come into leaf and blossom it is a plum and needs some work doing on in it June when the risk of spreading silver leaf has decreased.

The brambles were all over the plot but I will probably leave the ones near the fence and just neaten...

Sowed: 3 x lettuce [3a] and 3 x onion [3w]

2a - moon lettuce, 2 germinated [10 days]

1x - non-moon calabrese, 2 germinated [17 days]

1y - 2 x non-moon lettuce germinated yesterday [13 days]

Just beginning to start spring sowing. Had sowed some leek, carrot, onion and flower seeds in a propagator on kitchen windowsill. Potted some up this week, now in pots under window in garage. Also sowed some peas and sweet pea seeds into pots. Have decided front bed which is covered in spring bulbs and two climbing roses, should be adapted to be a nectar bar.

Having sorted out and prepared this year's beds for vegs. Now we are planning to put hen house on half, so re jigged some beds...
