Woke up to thick snow in the garden today. Sophia didn't want to be woken up AT ALL today(!) but I banged on her door and said "Look out of the window", she yelled, "Snow!" and disappeared into the garden with Dylan in a matter of seconds. Of COURSE I had put tomatoes and geraniums in the greenhouse yesterday but luckily they were all fine. Snowed again in the afternoon but didn't settle.

8 April 2008

Went up to my lottie this evening around 5.30ish, it was lovely, no-one on, which surprised me as it was such a lovely evening. The idiot who sprays everywhere has had 2 ton of soil delivered and had it plonked in the middle of the carpark!!! Inconsiderate so and so.......

Built a raised bed inside my greenhouse for the tomatoes, burnt the old wood, which smelled lovely.

So peaceful and quiet and then the other OH brought up the dogs! P&Q vanished. It felt good...

Dear Blog...

... I'm really sorry for neglecting you. I keep meaning to take a tour of the garden with my camera and put the pictures on here. It's just been so cold I haven't had the initiative to do so.

I've done some preperations and planting but not a lot. So far I have:

In the Greenhouse - a pot of carrots, a few peppers and some tomatoes that really got to the stage of needing more light than indoors could provide. I'm now worried they'll catch cold, checked them last...

Amazing what you can do in 20 mins...

Put 8x 2.5m weed control stuff down where next spud row (and a bit extra) will go.

Decided I want to build my 1st raised bed up this week as well, so put some blue plastic sheet on a roll down in a corner near the tap.

I don't think the cover-ups will do a lot to the existing weeds but it can't hurt I guess.

Oh and I found a load of parsnips in the middle of the plot so dug them up. Don't really like them though...
