never done a blog before so .....

got my new allotment about a week ago - shoulder high in weeds, but it's only this year's growth

have cleared some weeds to uncover 2 large gooseberry bushes and 2 small plum trees

also have approx 15 raspberry canes along the fence - have been ripping out long grass growing though the canes so we can actually see them

it's all looking good so far ....

since I last posted to the blog page. So here goes. We finally got enough rain to make a difference - not only to my crops but also to the weeds which seem to grow at twice the speed of everything else. I am now selling most of what I will have for the next couple of months. So at the moment I can offer for sale, four varieties of potato (all of which seem to be giving high yields) cucumbers, courgettes, peas, broad beans, broccoli, kale, rocket, lettuces, radishes, spinach, chard, french beans,...

I have watched Carol Klein's gardening programme this week and am very interested in trying out Jerusalem Artichokes but don't want to purchase huge quantities from a gardening centre. Is there anyone out there who has a few tubers spare for me to try first. I am willing to pay for the postage. Thanks in advance.
