Moon Trial day 84

I am planting out all the moon trial veg now. Today, it is a NO PLANT day - so to take advantage of this I am planting out all the non-moon veg. The moon veg will be planted out over the next 9 days on its correct day.

I have taken a photo of all the veg this morning. The moon veg are on the right hand side and the non-moon are on the left.

Differences so far:
moon toms have overtaken in height the non-moon
lettuce and onions - no difference at all...

Not winning but not quitting either.

Wish they had let me have my plot last Autumn then I might have cleared more of it before the grass, weeds, and brambles took off this Spring.

The part of the plot I've managed to clear is doing quite well with two lots of potatoes growing, shallotts, peas, beans, salad and a few carrots but the uncleared part is having a ' field day'. Each time I visit which is not as often as I'd like to or need to I make sure I start by hoeing with a hand hoe or dutch hoe the part that is planted...

My Lovely Plants

Posted 06-06-2008 at 10:29 PM by citygirl
Welcome to my "Growing mi Own" page

Let's start at the very beginning - A very good place to start... When you grow, you begin with a pot, add some compost(any stuff will do), then some seeds, plants, or bulbs, then, you need to make sure it has light, air and water...and you will get it to grow(hopefully)...i knew nothing. and still know little. but everyone has to start somewhere, right?

I've never had very green fingers, infact i was convinced they...

Trying to keep up

Posted 05-06-2008 at 10:55 PM by Glasshousevirgin
Still a bit slow on my legs and starting a new job has meant hard to keep up with all jobs required.
Lots of rain has meant everything well watered but slowing without sun or warmth - fortunately. Grass around the plots has become 6" deep and looking forward to someone being able to mow it.
Would like to clear out the GH to get more grobags in and plant up with peppers/chilli and aubs. Also to get shade curtains up and outside painted to limit heat build up which is still a problem....

Hens.
The hens are bigger with shinier feathers, fluffier bottoms and much pinker faces. No eggs yet. Fiona has become Annabelle, suits her more. Characters developing hugely. Almost two weeks ago we spent the morning building a bigger run that their hen house opens out too. hens very happy and busy. They now put themselves to bed, just before we go out and close hatches for the night.

Garden.
Have started clearing bottom of the garden, is shared with our lovely neighbours...
