Blimey I ache !!!....

Posted 10-10-2008 at 05:30 PM by Marthaclematis
I would never have believed there would be so much to do this time of year in such a small space. I've been outside all day today and I ache all over. Let me think.... well, I raked the lawn at the back, it hasn't been touched since before we went on holiday on 9th September. Just raked mind, not mowed; though its in desperate need we haven't got any garden sacks and the compost is full so nowhere to put the grass. So, after raking I repotted the cyclamen and then the cotoneaster (finally!).
Dh helped me to pull up the geraniums in the grass - waste of time they were, we hardly got any flowers (but they were free from pj). Then I watered all the pots, they still need it. Then I tied up some of the bulbs and cut back the glads and THEN...I planted 130 spring bulbs... I used the planter thing to do the front bed but for the patch in the lawn boarder I dug a trench, dropped them in then covered them over. Cor, that hurt. After that I did a lot of sweeping to cool down - we're having an Indian Summer, its been dry and sunny for the past three days.. Hope it lasts a while longer as we're off to Brighton tomorrow and staying overnight. We hope to mow before we go but we'll see how stiff we are.
