I bought an arch months ago in Woolworths for £3.95, its light metal and its 8 foot high and its at the back of the garden with a rambling rose next to it which I hope to train up. Its a north facing wall though and it doesn't get much sun (its under the plum tree and against the wall). The rose (beginning with 'A') is supposed to be ok for north facing wall though. Dh and I did made it together on the lawn.
Everything is looking good and the honeysuckle is going a treat, no flowers though. I am having to train it sideways every day, its putting up new shoots constantly.
We have Californian poppies and all the bulbs we put into the back of the bed are nearly ready to pop. Dissapointingly we have not had ONE flower on the lilac, very healthy growth but no flowers. I might have to put a question on the vine about that.
