We've had a wintery week in Yorkshire and whilst we were away it snowed here.. too cold up there, it was windy and hailing but it didn't 'lay'. We got home to five buckets full of thriving potatoes. I've earthed them up for the last time so now its just a matter of letting them grow, I reckon in another 10 weeks we'll be eating them! I bought some poppy and some foxglove seeds which are in the downstairs lounge in trays waiting to sprout. I love both those flowers and really hope I can nurture them into bloom (though I understand that the foxglove will take till next summer being biennail). The blossom is all but gone from the plum tree and its getting its green canopy, but the daffs are still blooming. I've only had to deadhead about five. I've read that I should probably plant out the ones in pots to give them a chance for next year and as they'll go in the back they won't intrude. I fed and mowed the grass front and back before we went away and with all the rain its gone mad. Raining again now though (when will it stop !!??) so I haven't had a chance to trim it again. The autumn cherry in the front has withstood some harsh winds so all credit to DH for planting properly. The blue bulb collection are on their way and the lilac has lots of leaf... Oooh and the Clematis? Going great guns; I am tying up every other day. Not much happening with the climbing rose but that hasn't established yet.
It seems things are taking off but Please god make it stop raining!!!
