Spring has sprung

Posted 10-02-2008 at 08:10 PM by Marthaclematis
Sunday 10th March today. Warm and spring like and couldn't wait another week to plant something so I potted up two potatoes (just maincrop from the kitchen which had chitted well). I put one each into a big plant pot covered by two inches of compost. The ones I bought are still chitting slowly in the front bedroom. I also planted 10 flowering summer crocus bulbs into the planters I bought two weeks ago. Because of the squirrell problem I have put them into the downstairs lounge to stop them being dug up before they even have a chance. I reckon that we'll have the table and chairs out by next Saturday. The daffs are just about to bloom, the beds are weed free, the clematis have about 10 buds between them and this is the best my garden has ever looked in Spring. I'm looking forward to a colourfull summer!
