Question on chicken wire...
Posted 22-11-2007 at 08:09 PM by Jon B
I read in a gardening book that poor growth of vegetables may be due to buried waste including galvanised iron/chicken wire that can rust to release toxic levels of zinc. I have just bought a roll of similar wire to go around the beds in my new allotment - is this a risk - could vegetable growth be affected or even worse my vegetables incorporate toxic levels of zinc when growing due to runoff from the wire etc.? thanks
