Have got hold of a huge bin ful of well rotted pony poo for veg garden, will be digging in tomorrow and can get more which is great. Have cleared just about all of the shrubs and bulbs, took up some old bricks from former path to increase space and now am hoping that all the spring bulbs will re-root in bed outside front door.

Finaly started gardening today. It was wonderful after months of decorating, packing, moving etc. Dug over half of the shrub bed that is to be veg plot. Started a leaf collection to make leaf mould. (My first, sitting in plastic bin in greenhouse tonight.) re-cycled the shrubs to garden waste and am planning to move over a couple of wee fir trees to edge as windbreaker.mmmm not sure whether they'll mind. This year is my sixth gardening year and my first at the Womble House. Having been interested in biodynamics for a while now, I've just ordered my calendar and plan to do things by the moon this year. A new garden will mean that the rsults can't really be compared but I'm looking forward to a fresh start.

I have a plot out from my back door, it has an accessible concrete path to centre, a composter, an LPG tank and lots of old shrubs that didn't look great in the summer when we viewed....

Finally four weeks later I'm back online. House is great, garden too but half of grenhouse roof exploded in winds yesterday. So that's my priority. Move was a long story, aren't they all? Guinea pig babies are in petshops in Aberdeen but we think she's pregnant from before the seperation, when we were in ignorant bliss. poor wee thing but she's pampered and he's happy in another hutch. Bulbs coming up, not sure what but pleased.

Tomorrow Pickfords comes and we are off to Scotland in the early hours of Tuesday. My hours, months, years of gardening happiness here are now standing in piles and boxes in the back yard. Obelisks and stacked tubs, tools lined up to be put into my waterbut when the puddle is drained.

It's likely to be a couple of wekks at least before I return.
