24th March 2008.

I share an allotment with Gordon and its starting to be an adventure. We have a huge plot between us and this year we have 14 raised beds and a patch that we have left for the potatoes, 2 sheds and 2 greenhouses, lots of fruit bushes and trees!
Been up today.....not much to do at all really, so came home and started sowing seeds. My peas are coming through nice. Just waiting for the weather to change so we can use our new rotovator and get our spuds planted!

All spuds are now in, just put i 1st and 2 nd earlies this year, Sharpes express, maris piper and kestrel. Courgettes are out, my new greenhouse with glass in it is on the plot and in full working order! Onion sets and plants are out, just a litle nervy about putting out the peas and climbing beans! What a couple of days! Posted 22-04-2008 at 09:03 PM by allotmentlady I am pooped........spent all day yesterday removing a 6x8 greenhouse off one plot, moving it onto mine, then puting a base down for it, then screwing it all down. Then started putting glass in but eventually went home cos my arms gave up. Today, glorious sunshine, revived energy, got up to lottie at 9.30am, started putting rest of glass back in. Gave my old 6x6 greenhouse to an old chap who didnt have one, it took 5 of us to carry intact frame and polycarbonate over 2 fences onto his lottie,... Continue reading... allotmentlady Rooter

11 April 2008 Posted 11-04-2008 at 10:56 AM by allotmentlady Wet wet wet wet wet this is so depressing, just want to get the plot rotovated, each time we say we are going to do it, the heavens open up, it fills winter today, cold, windy and rain!!! Still walking into the kitchen and seeing the beans and tomatoes makes me smile. Just going to check the greenhouse is still standing.....and that the plot hasnt moved 10 inches! allotmentlady Rooter

8 April 2008 Posted 08-04-2008 at 09:06 PM by allotmentlady Went up to my lottie this evening around 5.30ish, it was lovely, no-one on, which surprised me as it was such a lovely evening. The idiot who sprays everywhere has had 2 ton of soil delivered and had it plonked in the middle of the carpark!!! Inconsiderate so and so....... Built a raised bed inside my greenhouse for the tomatoes, burnt the old wood, which smelled lovely. So peaceful and quiet and then the other OH brought up the dogs! P&Q vanished. It felt good... Today went up to my lottie at 10.30 and didnt finish until 2.15pm!! Got my greenhouse back together so back in business.........felt good to be back inside it lol. Sowed some Blue gourd, Lady Di runner beans and some leeks og and basil! Noone else was on so had peace and quiet, enjoying a brew and a crafty ciggie lol.... Enjoyed today but my back aches lol.....cant have it all!! allotmentlady Rooter
