....time is moving on

Posted 01-06-2008 at 11:10 PM by Marthaclematis
..(continued ...) No, next year I think I'll make things a little easier for myself. No potatoes, no growing from seed and nothing which needs staking. And the tubs which are now empty (where the bulbs were) will stay empty - I have far too many things in containers and it takes me nearly an hour each evening to water them all. And you can't not do it, their lives depend on you! Its a big responsibility this gardening lark.

It was worth the early start

I sowed a few brassicas and lettuce at the end of January and into February and they have come to fruition as expected - we've had a couple of cabbages and a couple of cauliflowers and lettuce by the bucket-load!

As the brassicas have now been harvested I can use the containers they grew in for the next generation of crops - some dwarf runner beans, for example.
