.... we've spent all day outside. We dug out a small bed and planted a small lavender next to the french one (which is now in flower) and I planted the two geraniums (present from PJ) next to them. I also topped up the hole in the lawn and put more grass seed down. Oh, and as the seedlings are well on their way I put five of them in their bio-pots in. The soil isn't good where I've put them so its an experiment really. I wish I knew what they were. Silly me didn't bother, thinking, 'I don't...

Germination and activity since 20th April.

Moon:

1c x 1, germinated on 29th - 39 days
2c x 1, germinated on 1st may - 30 days
2d last one, germinated on 26th - 23 days
3d x 1 [26th] and 1 [28th], - 15 and 17 days to germinate

Non-moon:

1w - 1 onion germinated on 23rd - 37 days
2w x 1 [28th] and 1 [30th] - 33 and 35 days
2y x 1 on 23rd - 22 days
3x x 2 on 25th - 18 days
3y x 2 on 23rd -...

Trying to Catch up, Sowing Peas and Mixed Lettuce.

Nice surprise when visited the allotment on Monday and saw how much of the plot my helpers had cleared while I cooked their Sunday lunch.

This week planted more peas which I hope will survive the neglect of the next couple of weeks. Also made a make do and mend version of a raised bed from lawn edging and sowed mixed lettuce leaves in organic compost in it. I intend to harvest this by picking leaves as and when ready and needed, rather than cutting the whole lettuce. This method...
