Checking the allotment on week end I see a lot going on and here's the progress report;
Potatoes: Accent showing as are some of the later planted.
Peas: 2 nd batch showing, 1st batch 3 inches high
Carrots: 2 var which are small but progressing
Parsnips: not many up
Beetroot: a few showing
Onions: 2 var which are small but establishing ok
Cabbage and Broccoli? Cauli : mulched ones ravaged by slugs rest growing well = don't mulch!
In GH Fennel...

Another warm and rainy day. Stephen came round in the morning just as I was going out - nice to see him. Went out searching for wild garlic without any joy, though found huge clumps of evening primrose. Bees are finally back in their hives - they swarmed yesterday and Rupert had to come round and help Zaz get them back. Didn't get round to much gardening, but while making dinner, decided to go for it. Planted extra onions, two rows of carrots chantenay red cored; two rows of carrots Adelaide...

Warm and rainy-ish today. Didn't do much in the garden but finally planted some Jerusalem artichokes. We shall see what happens!

Not been updating my blog as I should have been, too busy at the plot and at home. All spuds are now in, just put i 1st and 2 nd earlies this year, Sharpes express, maris piper and kestrel.
Courgettes are out, my new greenhouse with glass in it is on the plot and in full working order!
Onion sets and plants are out, just a litle nervy about putting out the peas and climbing beans!

Toms are settled in and mushrooms are growing.......

I love going in...

Julie's beed naughty and weeded lots of my plot. Well to be fair, she moved the carpet and wooden boards and dug over the bits that had been covered. Not knocking her, extremely grateful - I tried moving the wood panels and couldn't, apparently she found a couple of men to help (well she is twenty years younger than me). Since this I've got the rest of my spuds in, planted out the summer PSB, some crimson(or Purple) flowered broad beans, and the Lollo Rossa lettuce. Dug some more. Flowers on...
