Cool thanks, I've contacted my local MP - probably no use, but hey ho - worth a shot!

Interesting - only looked mine up and it seems to have been difficult to get a response but no idea if that is standard across the country.

Worth pointing out however that this isn't the whole picture. My lottie is managed by the parish council and therefore not included on that sheet and there are loads of other ones like mine around the country.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

Replied to the survey, but our Local Council (Waveney DC) have very craftily handed over management of the allotments to the Lowestoft & District Allotment Association. The Council haven't given any data to the survey.

          Very interesting link.

I applied for an allotment in my home borough of Greenwich (London) and am about 45th on the list!! So I also applied for my neigbouring borough of Bexley. I gave my details and was told I was 7th on the list (I was really pleased), I had to complete a form and return it to the Committee (which I did over a week ago). I rang last night to confirm receipt of the form and asked where I was on the list (a long shot but I might have moved up)....only to be told I was 9th!!! I mentioned in passing that I thought I was 7th but this was not acknowledged and I didn't want to make ony more of it in case I suddenly dropped to 15th or something!!!! I was somewhat miffed by this bearing in mind that waiting lists can take years to reach the top and the difference in two place could be months or years of waiting. Grrrrr

Funnily enough Parsleythelion, I have heard of other people mysteriously dropping down the list rather that going up it. Makes me wonder if some people get bumped up the waiting list for some reason or other.
My local community association has been given a spot on our site. Now I am not saying that they got preferential treatment, they may well have been waiting like everyone else. But it does make me wonder ......

We have 2 local allotments, one being the largest in Maidstone where I live.
I have applied for both as they are run by the same contact.
I have been told it is a 1 - 2 year waiting list
