thanks for that. the council doesn't let any one know,
20 odd plot vacant all year,
so have done some local advertising my self,
I thought there was a waiting list for allotments,
there is another site over the road, plots available there too.

Allotments in / near Hitchin

Hi

I'm a first timer on here but saw someone mentioned there are allotment plots available in Hitchin - is this still the case? I am looking to hire a plot but have been told by the council that there are long waiting lists. Can someone let me know where and how i can apply if this is not the case? Many thanks!

The original poster hasn't been on the forum since Christmas so may not see your post. You could try a PM to see if they respond. Seems strange there were vacant plots in August and long waiting lists now.

hi we are after an allotment in Hitchin was wondering if there are still any available at the site you were talking about as it was last year?

You might try sending a PM to the original poster or ringing the council. If you know where the site is, you could turn up,and see if you can speak to someone. Weekends tend to be the busiest.
