Hi all, never been on here before but looks like a really helpfull site.

Im looking for a plot somewhere around Stoney Stanton (Leicestershire) - our local council is Blaby who helpfully told me 'we dont do allotments try your neighbouring council!'

Ive also contacted our local Parish Council who were a bit more helpfull and ive been put on there waiting list which could take a while. Our next nearest is Hinckley & Bosworth who have 95 on there list - over 2 year wait !

Does anyone know of any others near to me ?

I am also in Blaby District but at the other end to you.
I'm looking on google earth over Sapcote and there appears to be some allotments off Bassett Lane... have you seen those..?

Also there appears to be a small Allotment looking site off Leicester Road next to a field (leicester Road from Coventry Road), big drop of water accross the field...is that an allotment..?

Also another one off Grace road.. Spring Gardens it says..

You might be better off visiting these sites and looking for contact details on the gate, at the very least there should be contact info there.

Thanks for that, have tried the council (usuall reply - join the list 3-4 years over 100 on it lol) i will look at the others in a few weeks tho (off on holday friday) hopefully ill get more joy there.

Well if you don't mind a bit of a drive you could put your name down for one over here I only waited 3 weeks. At the moment there are 3 sites, Only 3 names on the waiting list and some plots are coming up soon (I speak to the lady who lets them all out).

I am on the new plots, so they are somewhat ropey, but we are all having a great time getting things cleared and today my son had the first food that is ready and and a bit of a ceremony was had over 2 strawberries, good work as we have only been on there since Easter.

There are not a great deal of sites around these days!

Our allotment is in Countersthorpe - which is under Blaby DC so their talk about "they don't do allotments" is a load of utter bilge. There are three sites in countersthorpe - one on Peatling Road, one on Station Road and ours - on The Drive. Now it might be worth emailing our allotment guru because our site is in such a state a few people seem to have given up. If you are interested (I warn you now, when I say state, I mean state!) PM me and I will let you have the details.
