Hi, I am new to this site. My allotments are in Dorchester on Thames Oxfordshire. An old Saxon site. They are about 9 miles from my house. Closest we could get with out a long waiting list.

Mines just at the bottom of my garden.

I would love to have my own allotment but wouldn’t really get enough time to spend attending its needs, working unsociable hours gives me limited time to do most things I enjoy doing, Plus I have heard loads of bad things happening on allotments like property and crops been destroyed, crops been stolen or vandalised, arson attacks, sheds been broken in to, the list is endless and heart breaking.
It’s so unfair for people who "spend long hours of hard work" tending to plots to arrived and find them ruined.

So for now I have made a small veggie plot big enough for me to spend time attending its day to day needs.

Mines in Yorkshire too, we've been on there for three years and nothing bad has happened. Snake, my Ole Nan was from Donny, and she could make anywhere beautiful.

Wherever that is surely it's better than Basra? Even Mexborough's better than Basra.

Mine's in Chester, about 10 mins cycle or 5 mins by car (depending on the amount of equipment to take down there!), near a retail estate.

Mine is in South East London, about 15 minute drive from home. Not as nice as some others sound, but when I am there I feel like I could be anywhere in the world, birds singing, no traffic sounds, etc.

Mine is in Chester, the Roman, City of Eagles. It is 'run' (in its loosest form) by Chester City Council. Anyone close ?

Mine is in Edinburgh, near the Botanical Garden. And near the crematorium. But unfortunately they have really, really strict rules on making fires on our site. Seems a bit of a joke to me though given that we are beside the biggest fire in town!
