  • second hand books for the lottie

    Taken from today's blog

So just wanted to share the 'pre-loved' love, with you all. It sort of fits in with the hippy, cheap-sake, alternative viewpoint people have of us Allotmenteers - so I say embrace it. Save yourself a bundle of money and go Vintage - they're always doing it in the Fashion Magazines. And we all know Allotmenteering is far sexier than wearing someone else's old clothes - right?

Preaching to the converted here I'm afraid!

My idea of a day out is do the market/booksale/car boot thing first then head to the high street for Oxfam, PDSA,Save the Children,Help the Aged etc etc
If I come home with less than two carrier bags full of books and a cuddly toy for the dog I'd think it was a poor day out!
My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

I work in a charity shop and we keep a list for several of our customers who have specific book needs, so far it's cookery, gardening, local history, Mills&Boon, Jeremy Clarkson?!? and Liverpool authors.

It's worth asking them to keep books for you, they should be grateful, (we are), for a sale.
