Raising beds at The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh
A group of volunteers based at The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh can now teach people how to grow their own vegetables conveniently from WoodBlocX raised beds.

The Edible Gardening Project, which is based at the Botanic Gardens, and is run by a team of staff and volunteers, who have been offering free courses to members of the community for more than a year, and the group is funded purely by donations.

Ever keen to support community and voluntary gardening projects, WoodBlocX donated six large beds to the project for its team of volunteers to run workshops and advice sessions from.

Jenny Foulkes, who manages the Edible Gardening Project said: “We are absolutely delighted with the beds, They will enable five local community groups easy access to their very own vegetable plots, plus the beds are much easier to maintain and look great.”

WoodBlocX’s Henry Blake said: “We were more than happy to supply the Edible Gardening Project with raised beds and Jenny’s request inspired us to run a competition for community groups and public spaces. There are hundreds of similar groups across the UK that are run by volunteers and have limited funds. We launched Raised Bed Rescue, in February and plan to giveaway up to £5000 worth of kits to worthy groups. All thanks to The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh!”

Raised Bed Rescue is open to community groups and publics spaces until 30th May, enter via Community Gardens | Outdoor Classrooms | No nails or screws | WoodBlocX #RaisedBedRescue
