Default Mulch muddle.

Blimey I really am confused about mulching. I rather want to use grass clippings(not too thickly,I know). However don't they seed into the soil? Manure is out as I have already treated the area with this and more will promote too much leafy growth apparently. The mulch is for around veg etc so must be easy too distribute.Lumpy bark bits don't really appeal.
I really would welcome all suggestions.Though something reasonably pleasing to the eye would be welcome...........ok ok it's a girl thing is'nt it ladies?I have read nettles are good but then we do not seem to have that meny on the lottie. HELP PLEASE!

Grass clippings are fine, they may seed if there are seed heads but then you should be mowing the grass before this happens. Also regular hoeing will keep on top of any grass sprouting.
