    Just viewed our new lottie

    Hi, yesterday morning, we went and met up with the allotment warden, who had a plot in mind for us. it is very overgrown, and a good size. anout 15 x 10 metres the plot next door may come available soon too, which i may see if I can have. our chooks are in the back garden at the moment, but they will be going up there too. they do tend to eat your flowers and poo over your lawn.

    I am quite excited about getting organised and planning the layout.
    my partner said the shed and the kettle must be the first thing installed. can't wait to get going, my veg patch in the garden is not quite enough for me anymore.

    hi minxie,i wish you all the best with your new lottie,i agree,a shed and kettle are a must,that is if your are allowed a shed,and i recomend a comfy seat each to,it's nice just to have a chill out in the good weather.

      Trouble with a comfy seat is you get a bit reluctant to get off it, specially if the weather's nice. I have a fold-up canvas chair which is just comfy enough.

        yes we are allowed sheds, greenhouses, and to keep chickens and rabbits.
        so yes the chairs will be there too, esp as my dad would like to come on good weather days, and at 81 he will need a chair, they have an on site loo too, which it good, long summer evenings roll on ( if they still exist)

          I would put a big fence up first all around the plot...........then you can set the chooks free in it and they'll soon sort the weeds out for you!

            It's like drugs isn't it? You start with a little plot in your back garden and then you need more to keep the buzz going!

              Just off now to sign the paper work, and it's all mine!!!. They are not charging any rent for the rest of the year, so we only have to pay for the key and admin, which is a whopping £22.00, what a bargain. They said they will send a bill in the new year.

              This weekend, we are starting the clearing operation, so fingers crossed for dry weather, I can just about stand the cold, but add rain, and I hate it.

                comfy chair for the nice weather what nice weather is that?? good luck with your lottie, i would love to have chucks but can't on our site, i'm so envious!
