  • good comfrey?

    hello there,
I'm sure I've heard that comfrey leaves left in water makes a really good liquid feed, am I right?
If so where will I find it and how much do I need to use, how long will I need to leave it in the water before using and do I use it for every watering?
I've got about 6 of those huge blue water containers on my lottie that I can use,
    many thanks

Un less you have some growing on your plot or can find some on the site that is going begging it is to late this year if you can find some plants get them in before winter and you are not supposed to cut it in the first year it take two weeks soaking in water to get ready for use i use old 4 gallon brewing buckets with taps on it makes it easy to botle it up it is a good feed for root crops but there is a down side it STINKS!!!! like nothing else and you dilute 10----1 when feeding if you do the same thing with nettles it is high in nitrogen ideal for brassicas the same dilution rate but it stinks just the same jacob

If you don't have any growing already, you might want to condsider buying a sterile variety (like Bocking 14) as it can be very invasive if it self seeds!

I've tried buying it from several places to no avail - let me know if you do find some.

Just wondering does Comfrey tea go off as I've got half a bucket left over.

Is it best going on the compost heap or can I save it till next spring?

You can try saving it. I don't think theminerals in it will evaporate, but if much of the water does, then it might be to strong in the spring. Why don't you put it on the compost and make more in the spring?
