The site manager tells me chicken pellets high in nitrogen good for leafy plants, I give my onions a feed of growmore or blood fish and bone, dont worry about the yellowing leaves on your garlic these will be the first leaves so long as the leaves in the centre of the stem are green you will have no problem.

It's a good general fertiliser, yes - it contains a good amount of the nitrogen that all plants need, to a lesser or greater extent, for growth. Too much nitrogen can cause problems sometimes, though - you don't always want lots of leafy growth at the expense of fruit, for example. For crops which we want to fruit - tomatoes, peppers, aubergines etc - a slightly different balance of nutrients is required. It's not difficult to add some tomato feed (maybe in liquid form) to those particular crops when they start to flower and as the fruit are forming - that should give them the boost they need.

They wil do fine for now it will give them a boost as they are starting to grow then later on they will need something different to get them to ripen the bulbs ready for storage, if you PM me I'll dig out the info at home (it's lunch time at work at the mo) and post it for you on here.

PM means Private Message, click on the name of the grape and your options for this will come up. I am new to fertilising as well, but got Tomorite for my tomatoes, a bargain at £3.40 for 2litre, that has seaweed in it. I also bought Comfrey root off ebay, infused and steeped it, that is also a fertiliser high in vitamins and minerals. I am not planting my own Comfrey and Borage for future fertilising. Nettles is another good one for fertilising your veg. and i bought Potash, hope im done now, unless someone tells me i need more or different.
