  • Deep Bed Layout

    Hi.

    This is my first post.

I have had the Harris book of moon gardening since last year, and would like to start "moon gardening" very soon on my allotment. My problem is that I cannot understand the system/layout of the deep beds, particularly the sizes, as described in the book. Can anyone offer to try to explain it to me?

    Hi
No idea about the deep beds. But I have a moon trial underway at the moment and thus far, no difference in moon to non-moon. But, as the proof of the pudding and all that, I'm waiting for actual harvests before a categorical decision as to whether I 'do' moon gardening again.

Don't know the book Mike but as a rough guide don't make them more than 4ft wide as you won't be able to reach the middle when you have crops on there (unless you are related to a gibbon ) so you'll end up walking on them - defeats a plus pint of deep beds.

If you do a search on here there was a thread about Moon gardening I'm sure but it's a fe years ago I think it was Jaxom who kicked it off.
