    Hello!
We can on ours and plan to in future. Our plot is private however and l don't we have many if any rules!.
I know losts of allotments don't allow them. I think this is a shame if they are kept properly and are not invading others plots.

cheers I read earlier today that if the council say you can't in the agreement then this may not be law this is what I found
"In the UK you may keep hens on council owned allotments.
In England and Wales the Allotments Act 1950 includes allowance of hens to be kept on allotments.
In Scotland the Allotments (Scotland) Act 1892 allows fowl to be kept. This act is still part of the existing legal framework for allotments.
Local council rules may specify that no livestock can be kept on an allotment but this is not in force legally unless the council have a local by-law approved (which is unlikely). "

The problem is I dont want to wind anyone up by going this way, but would love to as for Free eggs and another hobbie as well as growing.

        Hi

If you try to persuade your local council, then hens are fairly quiet. They only become noisey if you get a cockeral.
We have hens on our allotment, but no cockerals.
