    Bunny prints in the snow

    Some good did come of the snow covering our lottie site. We were able to see where our little furry plant muchers have been hopping !! The only problem is there were so many prints we couldn't follow them to see where they were coming from.

    How do you guys deal with your bunny problems ??

    Rabbit stew !!

    The last time I went to the local market, they had no stock; they are usually frozen.

      electric fencing ..... or small mesh, buried deep in the ground ..... or a big dog?

        Chicken wire around my whole plot, buried about 9" in the ground, about 3/4 feet high. Doesn't stop the deer or pigeons though lol

          went down the lottie sunday to find 2 muntjac deer standing on the neighboruring plot,only 2 sets of prints though so maybe its a one off.
          don't be afraid to innovate and try new things

              Not sure if I'm safe posting here....
              Check the boundary first of all, look for holes. If there are no holes then you have a captive family. Look under sheds, immobile objects with vegetation around them....look for holes and signs of digging, basically. Oh, and where the most prints are, that is closest to the burrow. (Because as they radiate out from there, the pawprints become less densely crowded.) You won't see it at this time of year, but if you see small shallow scrapes, with droppings on a small rise nearby, then you have a fertile female making "I want a home and babies" signals.
              Personally I have a catapult I am now learning to use (misspent youth, I was reading wildlife books ) and plan on non-vegetable protein.

                havn't seen any bunnies yet...........................lock and load ,last one in the burrow gets a pastry overcoat
