I had tomato and potatoe blight last year managed to save the potatoes but everyone on my small sit lost their tomatoes someone said that it is now in the soil so does that mean this years toms are doomed even with crop rotation

well i've read on this forum that is airborne and water on leaves keep it alive. There is a very good thread on one of the subforums here, with a lot of info, else, wikipedia gives a good explaination.

The blight fungus needs something to live on, i.e. plant material. As long as there are no remaining tomatoes or potatoes around which are infected it shouldn't last in the soil itself.
