  • allotment size

I am new to all this but I was just wondering if anyone can tell me the size of a standard allotment in metric. I really don't understand rods, poles and perches.
I have just got a new allotment and it is enormous.

      allotment size

I am new to all this and have just taken over a new allotment in october. I was hoping that someone may be able to tell me the standard size of an allotment in metric as I do not understand rods, poles and perches.

i think most allotments differ in dimensions but cover the same area. e.g my plot is long and thin 5 m by approx 14m (5 rod plot) but there are others on the site which are shorter and wider.

See and I was always told size doesn't matter - it's the quality! Now I'm thinking it might just!
