You could plant some second cropping potatoes. broad beans are also a personal favorate although the manager of my test grounds will not allow them to be grown as he reckons their to much work,

Thanks!

I can also put in turnips and spring cabbages I think, and even a few salads under cloches later on, I can't wait.

Elmo, you can start preparing the ground for your autumn garlic and onions. These stay in the ground until about next July and are frost hardy.

Hi Dexter, I grew Radar & Electric last year & they were OK I think I lost about 6 out of 100 or there abouts.

Radar are a normal coloured one & Electric are Red. I certainly going to grow them again.

A bit boring but I have now grown Solent Wight for two years running from the Garlic Farm and they have grown really well. Have kept back two heads to try autumn planting - not done that yet.

GF's advert back in the Spring was that their garlic grew from the south of England to Orkney. I soon put them right about that and they were dead chuffed!

Hi, I was thinking of growing elephant garlic, I saw it in the Dobies catalogue that fell out of GYO last month. I don`t use a lot of garlic so wasn`t going to bother growing any, but then saw the elephant and it said it can be used as a roasted vegetable and that appealed to my taste-buds!!! So was wondering if anyone has grown it, any advice and most important does it taste good???!!!!
Thanks
Caz.
