I tried this one year for germinating chilis and tomatoes - it worked to a certain extent, but you have to be extra zealous about opening everything up on sunny days so the seedlings don't fry, and shutting it all up before the warmth dissipates in the evening. It's good for conserving moisture though and I noticed the trays didn't dry out quite as much as the ones sat on the greenhouse staging - but then the front of the mini greenhouse didn't unzip all the way to the top and there was a 'reservoir' of moist air in the top 8" of the thing.
