They are in the ground at my allotment, so root growth should be no problem.
I will keep an eye on them and follow your advice in a few weeks time.

Make sure they have plenty of room for the roots to grow. The tops may look pathetic, but the roots grow like mad and need unrestricted growth. Are they in the ground or in pots? |
