I have stopped growing lupins because of this pest - Royal Horticultural Society - Gardening Advice: Lupin Aphid - as I grow organically and , even although I always have ladybugs, hoverflies, lacewings and many birds in the garden, this revolting creature must taste as disgusting as it looks. I did squash them and tried organic methods of control, but now don't think it is worth the hassle. This is like a number of American imports that should have stayed on the other side of the pond.
