It's not just schools who "don't care", it's the parents. It is becoming acceptable in general society to be unable to spell or string a properly punctuated sentence together, and if you criticise somebody's spelling, watch out! I'm not talking about dyslexia, just laziness/ignorance, ie not knowing the difference between whether/weather, sow/sew, way/weigh, right/write.

Written English is dying out. In a few generations, we will all be writing phonetically. Like I rite like i tork n it dunt mattr rite cuz u get me rite?
