You can compost all leafy stuff. Roots of perennial weeds like bindweed, couch grass need baking in the sun before you add to your compost. Just spread them out in the sun until brown & crispy (and dead!).

Pallets have fairly big gaps between the planks ... it would be a good idea to line the inside of your finished bin with cardboard (boxes) to keep your contents on the inside, not blowing round your garden.
