I never cover mine and they are usually fine. A few bugs when you harvest but you get that in any salad.

Just make sure they are watered if it doesn't rain.

Incidentally - were they green before they went out into the garden. If so, can you tell me how long it took before they turn red??? Just a little thing I've got going on at the mo...see my other lollo rossa postings!
